Lately a lot of people have been throwing this term "A-List Bear" around, and using it as a negative connotation.

I've been thinking about it a lot, and I like that term. But for me it's actually a positive.

The way I see it is that everyone has a list of friends. Some have a long list, and some have 3 or 4. To me A-List Bears are the bears that I see that seem to be on the top of everyone's list. They are the friendly, non-judgemental, social bears who are respected and admired by those around them. Not in a "I praise you" but a "I enjoy your company" kind of way.

Not to name names but people like [livejournal.com profile] bvig01, [livejournal.com profile] tonymorg, [livejournal.com profile] dhbearguy, and [livejournal.com profile] bigreddee, are all people who I consistantly see making people happy when they are around.

If I had a list, and it was broken into sections on the basis of who made the most people happy just by their mere presence, and who I see causing others to smile and laugh....those names would be in the A section along with many others.

Because on my list, the people who are often brought up when the term "A-List" is used in the negative, are not even worth noting.
It's all about the spin of things I guess. Why waste your time describing people NOT worth categorizing?

So if I call you an A-List bear, take it as a compliment. Or go tell me to go fuck myself. Whichever. It's my hot body I do what I want!

This week in bullet points because thinking about it in complete sentances seems impossible right now:

  • my brain feels really fried for some reason. Like it won't turn off and recharge.

  • I found out a friend of mine back home was hit by a train and died 2 days ago. We weren't really close, but it still is won't get out of my head. He had a tough enough life with his mother dying this month, as well as drug problems and such. He didn't need to go at such a young age.

  • So many little things are piling up that I worry about. STUPID little things like "I'm out of toothpaste" and "schedule a dentist appointment" all seem to be stressing me out more than normal.

  • I am SO close to getting an apartment and moving to a place in the city. I've been really suffering from "I'm a burden and no one wants to tell me" syndrome. I really need to buy [livejournal.com profile] dhbearguy and Drew/Orme more presents. I'm so close to moving and being able to stop having to rely on people to crash in the city, I don't want those relationships to get strained right by the finish line.

  • I am going to seattle this weekend. Friday-Monday. I have been looking forward to it for weeks! I FINALLY get to see my friend Emily who I haven't seen for 6 months! (which is crazy since for the past 2 years the longest we went without speaking was maybe 2 DAYS at a time). I also get to visit [livejournal.com profile] seattlewolf who if you haven't been keeping up with my journal made my heart go pitter patter the week before IBR. If laughter is the best medicine, those two are going to cause me to O.D this weekend.

After thinking about it, I am coining a new term.

"YAY!-list bears."
