Because of her difficulty breathing and a possibility of post op blood clots they wisked her off for a cat scan of her lungs. Interestingly they satellited her scan to Austrailia due to it being midnight and no radiologists work nights. In canada and europe it would still be night or early am and no radiologist to read scan. But! in Austrailia it's daytime so one of their radiologist read the scan and faxed back results to her hospital as they didn't want to wait till the morning to be read in Connecticut..
Yay Australia!
GOOD news, no blood clot could be seen. Ruled out slight heart attack as heart enzymes were normal. Mom's oxygen level was satsifacory after walking 3 times around the ER.(92 %) They were going to admit her, but the cardiologist checked her all out and felt she was OK since she was cleared just befored surgery. She's gonna follow up with her surgeon Wed and see if it is all just surgical post op related. She says she needs to be more faithful every 2 hrs blowing into the lung contraption gadget she came home with to build up her lung strength so she doesn't get pneumonia.
But apparently she's feeling a little better already because she said:
"I'm feeling a little better already and will take a short walk as the weather is beautiful. Will keep you informed. LOVE YOU LOTS"
