Feb. 26th, 2008 11:44 amUgh. I hate the internet but I love the internet.
Especially livejournal.
This is not to be read as a personal attack to ANYONE, but it is my journal and I need to write it down.
But more and more I see people posting things to their ONLINE PUBLIC FOR ALL TO SEE AND READ AND DIGEST AND REFLECT UPON AND COMMENT AND SHARE journals that are cause for a shit storm. Beliefs, politics, gender issues, food, whichever, that are shared, that are KNOWN to be hot buttons for people.
I am all for sharing.
I am all for discussing.
But livejournalers, please, please, if you don't want that sea of debate, of people disagreeing with you, then turn off comments for that post. The internet uses text, and text does not transcribe accurately for debates. Inflection is KEY to an argument. Things like when you merely state something as a reminder, but it is read as a guilt trip. Or when you capitalize something for emphasis, but not in a negative way.
I am not a mean person, and I don't attack people. I have opinions. You have opinions.
By posting to livejournal with comments enabled, you are inviting those opinions to be questioned, agreed with, or disagreed with. Please keep this in mind when you post.
Edit: Drama. UGH. So so so ridiculous.
