Photoshop tutorial
Sep. 22nd, 2008 05:56 pmSo
mondragon was wondering how to make a photo that looks like this:

look like this:

With a manual camera, opening the aperture up as much as possible, and changing the shutter speed to as quick as possible makes things in the foreground in focus, but blurs the background.
Unfortunately with a digital camera, especially with auto settings, everything tends to be equally in focus. I recorded a tutorial to show how you can fake it in photoshop.
Unfortunately there is no sound, but in the future if there is interest I will record other tutorials (and maybe re-record this one) with sound so you can hear me say what I am doing while I do it.
For now though I tried to outline it in text.
Let me know if you have any questions and if I should do more tutorials (especially if you have specific things you want to know) for you budding photoshop bears!
