First off, Halloween in the Castro was lame. I was only there @ 8pm but even still it was so uninspired, uncreative, and so watered down.

THAT alone means it is no longer worthy to be represented by that area of San Francisco, and should move.

There's also the shootings, homophobia, and gang violence.

I got home from work @ 7, put on some makeup (shittiest, MOST clothed costume in years, seen behind the lj-cut) and walked to the Castro.

Blah.

The costumes were SO generic.

"I'm a beer bottle."

"I'maa Borat."

"We're the FANTA GIRLS!"

gag.

Mine.

From The Farside comic.

Just for the cuteness factor.

Between halloween sneaking up on me as usual, and me being so busy and tired the week beforehand, it just kinda felt very blahhh.

I don't have your number or anything, but I seriously would have texted you to make sure - so I figured I'd just wait and see if there was an LJ post.

Halloween is always lame in the Castro. It's been a straight bridge-and-tunnel event for years, and the violence is nothing new -- although this year it was far worse. That's why the "gay" Halloween is always the Saturday before.

I think halloween costumes across the country are often lame.

people feel as though they have to be a thing thats clearly defined by words..ninja, pirate, construction worker, doctor, pilot..usually things that are dictated by society's need for people in different professions to be identified by their clothing.

unless you're a girl, then your options are limited to sexy things.

sexy nurse, sexy pirate, sexy fairy, sexy sexy.

i couldnt even count the number of times i was asked "what're you supposed to be?"

people are generally pretty lame when it comes to "dressing up" nobody wants to be seen as "weird".

-DAX!

Yeah, i went to Halloween in West Hollywood down in LA once, and since then i've had no desire to go to any kind of Halloween thing like that, it's just not, nor will it ever be what Halloween is about for me. That and i don't feel the need to be shot, stabbed, sucker-punched or hit in the face with a beer bottle (which seriously happened last year, some asses climbed onto the top of the bus stop enclosures and started throwing beer bottles at people in the crowd.)

Next year let's make sure neither of us has a 'blah' Halloween, deal? We'll rock that shit out.

Ben and i had some of the best costumes at the party we went to, and they weren't even AMAZING. Lisa dressed up as Cindy Lou Who from the Grinch and that was pretty cute... and another guy hand stuffed and sewed a huge penis and balls that he attached to handsewn shorts, he was dirk diggler. we were a sunshine and a rainstorm!
