First off, Halloween in the Castro was lame. I was only there @ 8pm but even still it was so uninspired, uncreative, and so watered down.
THAT alone means it is no longer worthy to be represented by that area of San Francisco, and should move.
There's also the shootings, homophobia, and gang violence.
I got home from work @ 7, put on some makeup (shittiest, MOST clothed costume in years, seen behind the lj-cut) and walked to the Castro.
Blah.
The costumes were SO generic.
"I'm a beer bottle."
"I'maa Borat."
"We're the FANTA GIRLS!"
gag.

Mine.

From The Farside comic.

Just for the cuteness factor.
Between halloween sneaking up on me as usual, and me being so busy and tired the week beforehand, it just kinda felt very blahhh.

Date: 2006-11-01 10:44 pm (UTC)people feel as though they have to be a thing thats clearly defined by words..ninja, pirate, construction worker, doctor, pilot..usually things that are dictated by society's need for people in different professions to be identified by their clothing.
unless you're a girl, then your options are limited to sexy things.
sexy nurse, sexy pirate, sexy fairy, sexy sexy.
i couldnt even count the number of times i was asked "what're you supposed to be?"
people are generally pretty lame when it comes to "dressing up" nobody wants to be seen as "weird".
-DAX!
