I've seen this done a million times, and done better, but lately every photo I find I that I want to mess around with in photoshop, I have been removing all the skin and features and filling it in with a picture of a solid color/gradient. It's a weird process that really removes all the identity of the subject, but forces the viewer to focus more on the clothes and background. I've seen this done for fashion ads and really liked how it looked.
