Haven't done much of a personal update lately, which I thought to myself this morning as I lazily got out of bed. It's amazing what your brain thinks about when you have time to actually think.
I'm currently listening to the audio book of Chelsea Handler's "Are You There, Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea." Every once in a while I type out what she is saying and have to delete. It's ok as far a audio books go, a bit stereotypical and maybe slightly racist at times(?). She does do a great job reading the book, ie. inflections, tempo, making conversations sound like conversations. It's all coming off a little "I'm a rich white woman and these are my problems."
On a more personal note, which is why it's called "livejournal," I've been in a weird mental funk. This level of "constantly overwhelmed by everything" has dominated me for about 2 months. There is just so much to do all the time. Work and Life are so very full and there isn't any "nothing to do" time. My brain, and my body seem to lack down time.
I ended up having to work Saturday afternoon/evening before (stopping at Drew's bday party and) Bearracuda, which was a pretty fun night, got a lot of good comments about my set, and then Sunday went out to Brunch for another bday and then FINALLY relaxing.
What did I do to relax? I watched the 1st disc of the 1st season of DEGRASSI JUNIOR HIGH on DVD.
So much great teen angst.
That evening I decided to take Phil out on a romantic dinner date since he so tirelessly let me relax while he did laundry and other housey-type things. I took him for Italian in North Beach to Ristorante Mona Lisa, which was delicious, and then out to gelato. It was a very much needed romp OUTSIDE of the Castro, as well as some great romantic time that didn't revolve around having to "get somewhere" aka work/bearracuda/7dayload/basket/sfmoviebears/topchef/sundaybrunch/ or any of the OTHER reoccurring events in my life.
I'm looking forward to warmer weather. Warmer weather makes me feel like things are slower.
